2 x 3 hour sessions presenting fundamental asset maintenance and reliability principles. The course aims to provide participants a basic fundamental understanding of reliability based maintenance concepts.

This course has been developed for Process Engineers, Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Managers, Operations Managers, and Asset Management Professionals. Participants benefit from experienced lecturers and updated curriculum aimed at providing an introduction to, or suplimenting a candidates’ knowledge of Asset Maintenance and Reliability.

Course overview

The Asset Maintenance and Reliability Training Programs comprises of 2 x 3 hour sessions presenting fundamental asset maintenance and reliability principles. The course aims to provide participants a basic fundamental understanding of reliability based maintenance concepts such as:

  • Definition of an asset and identifying maintainable assets.
  • Definitions of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability and how these terms affect how we maintain assets.
  • The growing expectations of maintenance
  • Ability to identify equipment failures and characteristics
  • The ability to identify and understand typical Maintenance Tactics/ Strategies and where they are used
  • Gain knowledge of the basic principles of Failure Mode & Effect Analysis principles used to improve asset reliability and performance
  • Gain knowledge of the basic principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance principles used to improve asset reliability and performance
  • Understand when and when not to apply RCM and/ or FMEA

  • Benefit of FMEA / Failures and failure modes / Why FMEA / When to conduct an FMEA / The FMEA Process
  • What is Reliability Centered Maintenance?
  • Levels of Analysis / Potential/ Fail (P-F) Intervals / RCM – The Seven Basic Questions / RCM Process / What RCM does and does not achieve
  • RCM vs FMEA

Online assessment and certification

Assessment is central to our modular courses, which is driven by competency. Participants who successfully complete the Virtual Instructor Led modules and theory assessment after each module will receive a ModuSpec Certificate of Attendance.
